Scott McKercher – Testing and development the Starboard way

At Starboard HQ, research and design is an on going process that never stops, the continual evolution of ideas and idea generation takes us down many exciting paths.

With one team rider in particular there seems to be no limits or boundaries to how hard he will push the R and D for Starboard. Scott Mckercher has been with Starboard from the very moment Svein started the company, he has had a lot of involvement with the Starboard R and D team and continues today to get the best results he possibly can. Scott really made his mark in the R and D when he designed the Evo. The Starboard Evo is arguably one of the best wave boards in the world

For many years now Scott has worked with Margareta Engstrom. She continues to capture great photos and travels a lot with Scott to make sure she doesn’t miss any of the action. The pair have formed a great working relationship and they will continue to travel the world taking lots of photos and making new stories.

More recently they have been working on a proposal for the Discovery Channel. The pair of them traveled around the world, capturing footage of windsurfing and the cultural changes they experienced along the way. The aim is to give an insight into windsurfing and how it can take you on many adventures around the world.

Here is the latest video from Margareta, she was with Scott and the team whilst they where in Australia doing some testing on the 2010 wave boards.
