Officially the youngest member of Starboard’s Australian Team: Alex Halank is now ten years old, and spends most of his free time together with his father, mother and sister.
All very enthusiastic windsurfers, the family sat down to make the video below, starring Alex and some other familiar faces.
As you might notice in the video, the sails Alex uses are not available in shops, because Ben Severne them especially for Alex. These scaled down prototypes suit his size and help him do a range of different windsurfing moves that would be hard to perform with a full sized sails.
Alex is the current Windsurfing Freestyle World Champion (under 11 years), Slalom Vice World Champion (under 13 years), Australian Wave Sailing Vice Champion (under 17 years) and the fastest under 12 year old speed sailor in the world. Lets' keep our eyes on him!
