View Full Version : Isonic 101 2008 sticking

hi i just bought an isonic 101 of 2008.
I am 72 kg and used it with 6.4 sail and 38 tectoncs talon.
I had my mastfoot 1 cm behind center and footstraps in the middle.
the board seems to stick in water, it planes later than other boards i tested the same day.

Is that a problem with that years design..?

The fin is not helping this board either. It was known to everyone that 2008 and before had some issues with the nose sticking. I worked with a few fin manufacturer to help me personally fix that problem and I found that the board needs to ride with footstraps in the middle front and all the way in the back on the back.
Also the fin that work for me best was Vector fins the Canefire 38 the angle of that fin was optimum to help promote a high riding nose. Also Use a D2 39cm from F4 Fins and we solve the problem also with that fin.

Try to put all your foot-straps in the back and put your boom eyes height with long harness line. 38 for 6.4 look to big also, better to try 36.

Hope this help

All the best

The board i want to use it for figure 8 slalom (reaching, upwind).
about the mast track, any suggestion...?
Will any Deb sl2 help the situation...?
The sails i want to use it, are 6.4 and 7.4. with wind 15 knots and upwards.

Yes the SL2 will help on this due is stiff head compare to the Tectonics who is more design for down wind slalom. SL2 is more around Slalom fins with good performances up wind.

All the best
