i have been using my old longboards for the last two(2) years - in lite winds < 12 knots
they have both seen better days

so, i started looking about - for something reasonable and affordable for a heavyweight
i narrowed it down to the SB Phantom 320 and lately was looking at AHD Tactik
one person told me the 320 is not available in 2013 and is made of ASA for North America
and a local dealer is suggesting the 295 - which i feel is for lighter sailors ie < 80 kgs

1) is the 320 NO longer available in North America - as of 2012?
2) is/was that model made of ASA
3) is the 295 appropriate for a heavyweight of 100 kilos?

the 377 batwing model is too $$$ and is aimed at rich batpeople

thanx in advance

Hi JW,

You get a wrong information and the Phantom Race 320 is available for 2013 & 2014. So you can order it at your Distributor.
At 100 kgs sure that it will be better than the Phantom 295.

All the best

At 100kgs the 295 did not work for me as a light wind board. Definitely go larger if your emphasis is toward light to moderate wind application.

i am not ready to buy, butt do NOT see 2013 Phantom 320's on the web
my most used board this year is an old model Fanatic Ultra CAT longboard, which planes plus glides in lighter winds
if this thing dies - there are few modern boards comparable
the SB Phantom may be the only one !!!
ideally would get the 377 or older 380, but more $$$$

well, looks like i was correct
after my earlier post, i NEVER did see any availability of the Phantom 320
and now i no longer see it even listed
guess it died like the Serenity
for heavyweights like me - this only leaves the very expensive 377 or Exocet 380 also expensive
fewer and fewer longboard options for us ...
have to go to hybrid like Kona ??
