View Full Version : JP X-cite 122L vs Tabou Rocket 115L

10th June 2013, 09:35 PM
It is time to get a new board and I narrowed my choices to JP X-cite 122L (http://jp-australia.com/2013/products/boards/x-cite-ride/) and to Tabou Rocket 115L (http://www.tabou-boards.com/boards/2013/boards/rocket).
I selected these two boards because most of the reviews say that they are very good boards for learning the jibe. Jibing is my next challenge. I considered Futura but it seems that it is more technical and it does require more sailor input/knowledge.

I weigh 83Kg and I will use the new board in choppy conditions, 18-25 knots.
Skill level: beginner/intermediate (waterstart and planing in the footstraps)
My sails for this new board would be 5.0, 5.5, 6.0
My current boards are:
Starboard Go 144 (2009) - used mainly with a 7.5 sail.
AHD Diamond 117L (2002) - This is the board I want to replace.

Please let me know what you think about my selection.
Thank you!

Why not try one of the Carves in that size?
