Hi. I haven't been sailing for about 4 years (kids etc) and my previous boards were an F2 Axxis 272 (~90ltr) and Windtech Course 282 (~140ltr). I am planning on getting back into the sport and looking at a ST93 and ST137. I weigh 78kg's. I sail in West Australia and normally have a 18-25knt seabreeze in summer but also looking for a board to early plane in winter etc and also teach the wife and kids a bit. I was thinking of Tushingham Lightning 6.5, 8.5 and also Storm 5m sails to use on the boards. Given I have been out of the sport a while can anyone suggest better combinations etc.

Oh, btw my main interest is burn and turn, and possibility of getting back into some marathon races on the short board and ability for also upwind blasting on the larger board.

ST93 for u for 18-23 kts = :)
ST137 for light wind and for teaching = :(, better something like a GO 139 (real light wind capabilities AND good for beginners)

I looked at the ST93 and 104 today - seems the 104 may be somewhat better for upwind ability and still supposedly good for medium/strong burn and turn with 5.0-6.5 sails. I have decided to buy the ST104 next weekend unless I find some other compelling argument/board.
I think you are right about the large board - will look at alternative (GO etc) for larger board - want a board for light wind planing that also is knockaround enough to teach the family - muck around with - is this possible to get best (good compromise) of both in a large board? Any other suggested large boards?
