retrofit kit for start - eliminate clipperbox 'hump' ?

Hello Team,

A few years ago (2004?) the Start model came out with a retractable centre fin (the 'clipperbox system?). There was a 'hump' on the centreline of the board where the centrefin retracted into - about 2 inches high, kinda triangular or tent shaped. I note that the 'hump' was a short lived addition to the Start, and has since disappeared.

I think... I once saw Roger refer to a kit which could be retro fitted so as to remove that hump from the deck.

Are those kits still available?

Hi Tony,
I would call or email Trident Sports in No. Vancouver, BC (The US and Canadian Distributor) and ask if they have any of the kits in stock, or can order one for you.
Failing that, I can suggest how to remove the "hump" and cut down the Clipper box center board so that you have a flat deck.
I did this "modification" to a couple of my boards before I received the retro fit centerboards and the new thinner CB cassette cover.

I just got an email from Trident Sports, and they have the retro fit kit in stock.
Check with your local dealer and have your dealer order you a kit.
That's the way the system is supposed to work.
You deal with a retailer, the retailer gets what you need from the distributor, the distributor gets the part or board at whlesail pricing from the manufacturer.
