View Full Version : Evo 80 - 70

Hi there:
Scott: When you sail overpowered with Evo 83 /5.3 what board do you get, or do you prefer better: Evo 70 or 74 in the 4.7 /5.3 range?
What about the Evo 83 / Acid 74 combo?
Thanks in advance

I have 62-70-75-80. I tend to go to the 70 directly from the 80. In some conditions I do take out the 75 though, but in practice it is very close to the 70 at my weight (70kg) and since I've always loved the 70 shape, that one gets more time on the water. E80-PA74 is certainly an option that works if you like the PA type of ride in more wind. Personally I prefer staying on the EVOs.

If Scotty is not on the road or something, I think he'll get in here too...

Hi Ola:
It will be the same for a 80 kgs boy, mor or less I guess...Are you agree with me? Are the Evo 83 and 75 too close in range for a 2 boards combo?
Thanks a lot

The 83 and 75 are certainly two different boards and could be a nice quiver. But if you think you will be comfortable on a 70 liter, the E70 will give you a bigger range overall. You might look for the 2007 EVO 75 which is a bit more down the line oriented than the 2008.

But Scotty might have good things to add as weight can actually influence things here.

hello there.
sorry. not had computer access here in thailand.
there is a big enough gap there for sure. especially for the fact of going from vo to acid, it will stretch the size gap feeling I reckon.
Would be fine for me at 84 kilos to jump from 80 to 70 evo.
