Isonic 133 or 144 for ultra light wind

I am Tur53 from Alacati. I am just about to finalize my order for the boards.
I will for sure get 101, 111 and 122. The next size will be either 133 or 144. This last board, I plan to use with 9.0 and 9.8 sails. I am 80 kg and we sometimes have to do some privately sponsored races at around 8-11 knots. (for these conditions I have an R14 soft 60cm fin) Between 11 and 14 knots I will use an R13 medium 48cm fin. From 14 knots onwards I will step down to my 122 with 9.0 anyway.

For the range from 8 knots to 13 do you think that it would be wiser for me to get a 144 or would it not make any difference in light wind planning considering my 80 kg weight.

I have to decide soon so your answer at your earliest convenience will be much appreciated.

Hi Tur53,

In your case the iSonic 133, the 144 is for heavy racers than you, like Antoine Albeau.

This is my choice for 85 to 87kgs :

iSonic 86, 111, 133 with 5,6 6,7 7,7 9 and 10m²

Would you still go for 133 if you were to race at 8 knots of wind and if you had an additional 122 to the boards that you currently have.

If there is 14 knots or more I would use my 122 anyway. I am looking for the best board from 8 knots to 13.

Hi Tur53,

If you are under the PWA rules of 85cm wide : Yes keep the 133 if not go dirrectly to the iSonic 150. The 144 is the same as the 133 with more volume for realy heavy weight in the PWA rules.

bigger, but smaller than formula..Remi, will the is144 be able to carry a 10,7 rs6 sail?,
and if so, what size of a fin?...

Yes it's the maximun, you will be better on the iSonic 150 and more efficient.

hallo remi, 200 pounds, but im looking for the fastest lightwind slalomboard, so i guess
the 144 is is the board im looking for...but what kind of fin for a 10,7 sail rs6 ?

Hi Aj,

If you are not under the PWA rules of 85cm wide max, I recommand you the iSonic 150, you will better with 10,7 rs6.

This iSonic is completly different than last year and really fast particulary with this size.
