evo 70 or 74

Hi

My favorite places for windsurfing are Vargas in Gran Canaria and Tarifa.

My weight is 77 kilos.

The board that I have now is an acid wood 70 liters, very nice, but the tail sinks very quickly if not well powered. So I struggle to pass the shore break when not in the gust.

I think that I will go better with an EVO shape, but I am doubting between 70 or 74 liters.

Would 70 be too small and sink aswell???
Would 74 be to big and loose control when overpowered with 4,0 or 3,5.???

Also wood or technora.

My other board is tabou pocket wave 85 liters.

Hola David,
go for the EVO 70. It´s the perfect board for the sailsizes you will use. With this board you can sail quite nice in the poket of the waves. I know both spots and will recommend for both the EVO 70 to you. Sure the 74 will work, too, but the EVO 70 will be more lively, especially on your waveriding side.
The tail will not sink. It´s wide enough and the board will give you a great overall lift. Besides the board will fit great to your bigger one. It´s a good gap in between. But do not forget. The EVO 70 also works great with a 5,3 sailsize!!

Agree with Chris. Overall, the EVO 70 will clearly give you a wider sweet spot and especially better performance in high wind. As soon as you're moving it will not feel sinkier than the 75.

I would go for wood.
