Hi Guys

Please can you give me a little advice so that I don't buy the wrong board !!

I weigh around 83 kgs and sail on the south coast of the UK and have been sailing for 19 years.

I have a FSW 98 litre (used with 5.8m sail) and FSW 78ltr (for 5m sail and below).

I want to get a wave board that I can sue with 5m sail and below.

Please can you let me know if I would be better off with an Evo 75 or 80 as my smallest board.

Most of my sailing is on wind blown waves small to head high.

Many thanks in advance

E75 hands down. At 88 kg. I use it as my 'high' windboard. The 80 will be quite a handfull with, lets say, 4.5 and below.

Hi Nick C, I am the same size as you!And have an Evo 75.Superb for our UK south coast
mush.Great from 3.7m2-5.7m2.I used to have an 80,and found the 75 much better in sub 5m2 weather.

As Happy and kingo says, definitely nothing bigger than the EVO 75. If you're gonna sail powered up (as opposed to sinking a lot) you might even look at an EVO 70. When planing if feels as big as the 75, but it handles speed, small sails, faster waves etc better. Scott McKercher is around your weight and uses the 70 from something like 5.0 and down. Especially if you're looking for 2008 boards, the 70 is worth another look (sails slightly bigger than 07).

Hi Nick,
I would choose the EVO 75 in your case. Works great with the sailsizes you want to sail on.
Have fun on the water,

Thanks for all your advice

Got a 75 evo in the end and love it.

Been on it in marginal conditions and powered up logo high cleanish waves at Kimmeridge and was really pleased.

Agree with Ola H. With 83 kg and owning Evo 80 74 70 , I always go for the Evo 70 for powered up conditions with 5.0 sail and smaller.
