What would be the ultimate lowwind sail for the iSonic 150 ?
The RAMF8 9.9 or Neilpryde RS Slalom 10.0 (2008) ?
My weight: 95 kgs
Thanks very much !

You will find that they will be very similair in low winds, no advantage by either RSS or Ram. Just a matter of personal choice between the two sails. Have you got a iS150? Could you post a couple of pics on this thread?

Have you tried the two sails ? Was it the 2007 or 2008 RSS ?

I'v sent you a Personal Message with my email. I dont have either Ram or RSS, Im on North Warps but both Ram & RSS are used at my local spot. No real noticable advantage in low winds from either, both seem to deliver.

I have bought RAM F8 6.3 and 7.3 to use with isonic 101 but they havent arrived yet so i can't tell anything. HOWEVER I have heard that Ram is better than RSS and also RAM has 4 cambers RSS has 3 cambers. Can you email me your board's picture ??? I will sent you a personal message

Okay I will. In what way is RAM better ?
16th December 2007, 02:20 AM
I haven't tested it yet my RAM will arrive in February so i can't say that it's all true but i've heard that it is very similar to Warp2007 very fast and great stability. You have option for 3 or 4 cams. When you want you can take out one of the cams. However in RSS you have 2 or 3 camber option. So 4 camber is a big plus I think.
Thanks for sending the email :)

One more question :) what fins do you use with your boards?
16th December 2007, 01:38 PM
My iSonic 150 will arive in Februari 2008. The stock fin should be very good (Drake deboicet 56cm R13. The better/ faster fin is the Deboicet R13 soft I heard.

Did you decided on RAM or RSS?
16th December 2007, 11:59 PM
I'm not completely sure yet but I think I go for the RAMF8 9.9. I think it will be more stable and the low-end will be the same as the RSS.
Are you also considering buying one of those ?
17th December 2007, 01:44 AM
I bought 2 RAM F8's 6.3 and 7.3 but they will arrive in February. They are in shipping right now I guess. If you want close pictures of RAM I can send you email.

What boom and mast are you planning to buy ?
17th December 2007, 11:48 PM
I allready have an X9 boom. And I have to change masts when I go to RSS. I heard the low-end of the RSS is better, especially in the bigger sizes they made low-end better.
18th December 2007, 01:41 AM
I don't have much information about the RSS :S
18th December 2007, 04:50 AM
Have you considered the RS Racing from NP. Not that more expensive especially when coupled with the X6 mast and has more range than the RSS. People who have the latest RSR say there is no going back.
18th December 2007, 01:01 PM
Thanks for your advise, Philip.
Yes, I have considered that. Last year I used the RS6 and I broke 3 masts in it (X9 ultra). So, I don't believe in X9 anymore in the big sizes (4.90m and up).
And I heard that the RSS 2007 was as fast as the RS6 so I thougt why taking that risk ? I would go for the RSS 10.0 2008. The X6 5.20 gives 100% carbon. For the smaller sizes I keep my Warps 2007 (7.8 and 6.8)with the platinum masts.

Just a quick question. Did you had any problems with the Platinum masts? What conditions do you surf, where?
18th December 2007, 10:36 PM
I had no problems at all with my platinum masts. I surf most of the time in lakeconditions and IJsselmeer. I just bought an RS Slalom 10.0 for real light wind and RS Racing 7.8 and 6.7 for high wind.

Nice choices of sails I think :) RSR is a perfect one. Good Luck . I also bought 430 and 460 platinum for my RAM 6.3 7.3 and I bought Hawaiian Pro Line boom. Do you have any experience with HPL boom?
19th December 2007, 03:31 AM
I have no experience with HPL boom. I'll ask a friend for you.
20th December 2007, 09:30 PM
Sorry, Can. I couldn't get any information about the HPL boom.
