Hi, Iam interest to hear how you feel on the new craze on twin or tri fins ?
My sailing is on lakes or rivers, ocean no. Sails 4.0 to 6.0, the products from Starboard that look to equal are Flair 88, EVO XTV 79, and Kombat 80.
My weight is 65KG. i look for good control when high wind.

An Evo 79 on lakes or rivers... I think the craze you are talking about is 'try-hard', not 'tri-fin'.
Maybe look at a Starboard Start with a kiddy rig.
Thanks for the advice... beers were great!

interesting board, whats strange on the site it makes no mention of being a tri fin, standard center fin with small thrusters

For lake sailing, Flair or Kombat will clearly be the better boards. For manouver orienteed free saling, the Kombat is te way to go. If you have serious freestyle ambitions, the Flair is the board of choice.
The Kombat 79 will handle the 4.0 to 6.0 sail spectrum well a your weight. I have it myself and hav used it (on a lake) from 4.0 up to 5.9.
Twin fin or thrusters typically don't make much sense on flat water. The 2001 board you refer to was also a wave board, designed to offer easy access into wave riding.

At the 2001 site for the Starfish, there are actually a couple clear references to the FCS thrusters. One in the marketing discussion and another in the specification section identifying the fin box configurations.
I knew a few folks that had this board, and they seemed to like it. However, not everybody liked the performance of the thrusters, so they used it as a single fin, without the smaller thrusters.

Oh yea, I see in the small print FCS side fins, I would have thought they would show them in a photo......
