Hi there,

I am heading to Dubai for 6 months, and saw the question on the forum. Did you have any replies? Did you find any rental places in Dubai? I too have no kit to take with me, but am fairly advanced, so looking for decent boards/sails to rent...

Look at www.boards.co.uk.....forums-locations and search dubai for a bit more info.
I was there before it was fashionable, when it was a great place and unspoilt.
Sounds like you really need to take some kit (unaccompanied baggage perhaps ?) and depending on your weight something like a highish volume board and 6.5 + 8.5 sails.

For the hell of it, I tried dubai windsurfing in google and here is one result
www.dubaicity.com/what_to_do_in_dubai/water-sports-dubai-sailing.htm - 30k -

Since the coast line is now a building site almost to Abu Dhabi, you may want to consider contacting these beach hotels and seeing if they would let you store kit there.
You may have to join some sort of Hotel "Club" or simply buy a load of beer and burgers on Friday after sailing !
Looks likely you will be obliged to take some kit with you.
Good luck.
