Now come on last poster. Makes no difference if you buy a Starboard, F2, Exocet or Gaastra.
End of the day it's you ability, tuning and tactics that will determine how well you do.

Sooo true last post, some should spend a bit more TOW rather than getting tired reading and posting all these useless comments...

Agreed, ditto for the so-called speed sailing.

Stay with your gear for a couple years, learn it.

then click on Midwinters results button. we uploaded the results there.
yes this is the right link and this year's results. Make sure you reload or refresh your browser.
Gonzalo's win was no fluke. Sometimes he had a huge lead you dont get this sort of distance without some advantage and I think the board is it. LAst year Antoine totally dominated with his speed. This year things were more even with others, but Gonzalo was ON and he he could comfortable gain on others.
I will also upload some more shots soon. Still trying to take a nap

But last year was heavy wind and even Micah? landing a top spot, right. Antoine seems to hand it to anyone with enough wind. I remember Jesper Vesterstrom writing that he struggled severely with the wind last year. This year he wrote that it was very light and all about tactical racing, which I believe helped even the field (i.e. eliminate AA's advantage) and thus Gonzalo won due to his lightwind skills (and good tactics). That also leads me to believe that Gaastra may have won the regatta had Steve Allen been there as he has normally been able to beat Gonzalo and Jesper in such conditions, last year also on an older 160.

gaastra Vapor board really sucks in light air...
...Steve is a former champ and probably would have hidden that.
Would you like Bark tell me about Melo's bros?Usually Fabio and Victor are faster than Gabri but this time they were on Vapor combo....

Go and buy F2 immediately!

PS I really hope you're trolling, for your own sake ;-) Otherwise, go seek professional help.

Last year at the US Open in Corpus Christi, we had light winds and only three races. Gonzalo smoked the fleet and I believe he was on a F161. Half the fleet (heavy guys) couldn't stay on plane or make much upwind progress while Gonzalo made it look easy. No doubt he is extremely good in light winds. I think he could do it on any board or sail.

He was racing really well and with those starts and tactics he made he was just to hard to beat...I dont think he was faster, but if you make right decisions on a race course it gets a lot shorter...
I am not worried being on a star 162 this year...

Just get out there and tune your board
