Freek- Will it freak me on the water?

I am a mostly a freerider and do ride in choppy conditions too... I am working on my carve gybes nowadays. I recently got a really nice present, a 5.3 Severne Freek. I was wondering if I will be able to use this sail and enjoy it too, giving my style and capabilities... Reviews indicate that the sail is strictly for freestylers. That's my worry...
