Taty or someone?
Can you tell me what the difference is between flare 08 111 and flare 09 106. They have the same dimensions (?) so is the 106 less thick or where is the difference? Also does the 106 feel much smaller on the water than the 111l?
I'm asking this because i'm buying either the 08 flare 99 or the 09 flare 106. I'm afraid that on 08 models the 99l is a bit too small for my weight (81kg) but then the 111l isn't that good in choppy water and is too thick. So maybe I should wait for the 09 106l..?
Thanks for any thoughts!

In what kind of conditions are you going to be sailing with the flare?
What is your sailing ability?
As for you questions:
The 106 is a bit thinner then the 111. BUT the 106 acelarate better then the 111. is feels smaller because you have a bit less thickness but as you know we have change the design so it will be a diffrent board then the 08 111.
The 106 is the same width and lengt as the 99 flare 08, During the photoshoot in Maui I was on the flare 106 with a northsails 5.8 natural freeride sail and the wind was 25-30 knots and the board felt just fine, it doesn't feel that big and control it was easy, the new shape makes the board light under your feet.
The fin I have tested with this 106board is:
STARFISH CHOCO fin, 18 22cm

Thanks for your answer!
About my sailing ability; i can do vulcans and flakas and i'm trying to get the spock right..
so the board will be for freestyle use. the conditions i will be sailing in are mostly a bit choppy with some flat spots for the moves near the beach.
at the moment i have a tabou freestyle 110 -06 which is 68cm wide. it feels a bit too big for freesyle and a little slow and that is why i'm thinking about a smaller board.
I´ve decided to wait for the 09 models but I don't know yet which 98 or 106 (my weight 81kg). One more thing, I will be using 20cm MFC freestyle fin.
I tried my friends 08 99l flare and it felt really fast and the control was excellent. So how does the feel of the new 106 compare to this board? I also understood that there will be wood and wood-carbon(?) models, how much is the difference in weight on these?

The 98 is 236 x 63.
The 106 is the same same width as the 2008 flare 99 but much faster in accelaration.
the 106 woodCarbon is about 6.4 kg don't know the exact weight but it's really really light.
There will be about atleast some 0.5 0.8 kg difrent in the wood carbon then the wood.
I now most people will go for the woodcarbon.
