Hi Ian - just a quickie - what do you reckon on Acid 80 2006 compared with Kode 80 this year? Only interested in board for high wind bump & jump. My 06 is going well and I know you reckoned that compared with Acid 80 07 (and 08 - same board) - the 06 was a better suited board.
Cheers, Mark

Hi Mark,
While the Kode80 might not immediately obsolete your 2006 PA80, at least you now got a valid option should you need it..
Although developed primarily as a serious wave performance board in this size, Kode80 is a worthy B&J competitor in hi wind mode against the old benchmark 2006 PA80 - and in my case Kode80 was one of the first 2009 boards into my personal quiver from the new range as a planned successor to the all time favorite PA80(2006).
Although both similar in range, the Kode80 is a slightly more compact, fast rockered + tail focussed evolution of previous PA's 2006/07/08.... Kode80 has a reasonable planing flat under the front foot, with obvious wave rocker(tail kick) for both wave performance or top-end, rough water speed release, all those key ingredients are there..
New construction doesn't hurt PA80 competitiveness either,
but I know we're comparing shapes here more than construction...
Cheers ~ Ian

PS : And YES - I still keep the 2006 PA80 - and the final Acid77 - model as benchmarks.
But the real question is, how often will PA80 come out now in comparison to the Kode.

thanks for your insight again Ian. I think I'll keep PA80 06 for this season and maybe change to Kode 2010. Cheers, Mark
