Lockwood fin - Question for Ian

Hi, I own an IS 101 09 and use it with a Deboichet sl2 36cm fin and rides fine with 6.6 Ka sail in flat water 20 kt wind, my weight is 70 kg and advanced level.
Looking for more downwind speed at 110 degree i read in several forums about the Lockwood-Mcdougall new slalom fins, i would like to have some advise about it compared to the fin i already use in same conditions.
In same 36cm are them thinner/thicker, profile, etc ?
Also if someone else used it pls let me know about.

Hi Willy,

Not had the chance to test the KA Slalom fins yet, seen a couple around Sandy Pt and the KA guys giving them a decent rap in terms of speed. For the 101 you generally want to keep a reasonable amount of fin/lift going to get the best performance from the board, especially at tighter angles closer to beam or moderate broad angles : 110' is kind of a "tight" angle for speed even at 20 kts/windspeed - and here you may also find that some of the "faster" fins (ie: specialist fins that can deliver better top end, running super broad) don't give such a noticeable advantage ( I mean, c/w a good condition Deb SL2 ) when run tight.

many thanks for your reply, I'll stay with my Deb sl2 36 until Lockwood-Mcdougall 36cm fins get more tested and developed.
