I have aquired some used race sails and would like to remove stickers and race numbers so as not to embarrass the previous users by my lack of skill. Are there any simple safe ways to remove them?

Pull them out? Use a little bit of WD40 spray lubricant to help fight the adhesive.

Just leave them wet for a coulpe of days. The glue becames loose and easy to peel off. I'm in a hot climate. Average humity 70 %.

When we wish to remove stickers from sails we use a hair dryer to heat the sticker.
Blow the hot air (not too hot and not too close to the sail material) on the sticker and peel it off.
The heat tends to make the glues stay on the sticker rather than on the sail.
If any glue should stay on the sail fabric we remove it with a mild solvent. (White spirit). But before doing this, make a small test to see if your sail is OK with this. Some use acetone, but I have not tried this)

The hair dryer and a little varsol solvent for the residue worked well. Thanks for the help.
