Bonjour,
Je suis entrain de preparer ma liste pour pere Noel: Je pese 73kg pour 1m84 (tout en muscle) et je me demande quelle isonic commander pour me mettre au slalom?
La 94litres est-elle suffisamment volumineuse pour rentrer en cas de chute de vent? Ou dois-je cibler la IS 101? Je ne veux pas faire double emploi avec ma futura 101!

Quiver: K74,k86,F101,F122 voile 4/4.7/5.4/6/6.5/7/8m2

Pour 73kg, iS94 sera bon pour vous. Il portera vos 6, 6.5, 7.5 et peut-être les 8m. Je pense que iS94 s'insérerait dans votre collection de conseils bien.

Thanks for the input. I thought I loaded my post in the French Forum but delighted to get other (international) insights. :) So you say IS 94 can take me back home safely in case wind suddenly goes down ?

Don't you think Is 94 will not not overlap with my F101? I know I can sail with bigger sail, inherent to IS shape, but want to make sure I am not duplicating board .

Other inputs welcome guys

gee .. you are very close to duplicating boards! F101 vs Is 94 is maybe 5-6L real difference and in practice less than that because of the IS wider tail etc.. I am currently using 4 slalom boards 86L-96L-111L-130 but it is an overkill and I could do very well with 20L between boards: for example 82L - 102 and then 120/130, The choice F101 plus Is94 seems way to close. I you get the Is-94 sell the F101, or if you keep the F101 get a Is-122. BTW I am 70Kg and my 95L board takes me home, but it is still very hard to uphaul especially in chop.

Sorry, I missed read you, my French is poor:) and I find it hard to express my thoughts in French. I was thinking you wanted to change the F101 for either an iS94 or iS101. I was thinking along the lines that an iS101 would become to big in stronger winds.

As David says, there will be big cross-over between the F101 & iS94. But, the iS94 will carry your 8m for light wind fun (the F101 would struggle with the 8m due to its pin tail/max fin. Do you intend using your 8m on it? If not, then the iS94 might be the best choice. If yes, then the iS101 could be the way to go. I guess it a matter of what conditions you will be sailing most.

The F101 Vs iS94/101 is tricky as their both quite different weapons. The iS94 is very close to your current F101, but an iS101 will be a tight fit in between your nicely spaced F101 & F122, again giving a lot of cross-over between these to boards.

As for the iS94 getting you back to shore if the winds go home early, the iS94 will definetly float you at 73kg. Both slogging and up-hauling will be tricky, but do-able. I know a lot of people like to go "one size" bigger to be safe, but I prefer to go the opposite way. I'm 105kg/194cm and use a 7m and 8m on my old (and still much loved) sonic 100 and have got caught out more times than I care to remember, but once back on the board, its fine in a breeze as low 6 or 7 knots, slow going though:) I see from your board quiver that you are already sailing very small boards, so you will not get caught out.

What size sails and conditions where you planing on using the iS94/iS101 in? Christine on the French forum has lots of TOW with both these boards. Maybe PM her for her thoughts??
