I am over 300 lb. Just wondering what board will hold me to sail in light winds?

Hi Bear,
First what you would like to do :
- Learn windsurf?
- Slalom?
- Formula?
- Race-Board?
- Which sails you have?
More easy to answer you if you give us a direction, thanks
All the best

Hi Bear,
Ok at this time you can in club to learn and I recommand you to learn on a board like the Start L : http://www.star-board.com/2010/products/board_start.php
This board will give the stability that you need.
All the best and welcome to the Windsurf family

Support the message above. I am about 260lb, sail the Mahalo almost exclusively the last couple of years.
It took me a couple of years to realize that what may hold for “normal” sailors, do not apply for me. The wide beginner’s boards do well the first week. Planing a Start-board in footstraps is advanced technique even for people below 200lb.
The Mahalo can also be used as tandem, works well with almost 500lb.
