Will starboard make another effort for the 2016 Olympic games with the Formula One Design concept?
ISAF design evaluations in 2011 for one class: either kiteboards or windsurfing.

Maybe you could choose a kite or a formula - just like the gladiator "net fighter", with a trident and cast net, fighting a secutor.(with shield and sword).....

Why there's no response from Starboard?
There must be lots of people who are concerned about how this sport will go in the Olympic arena and I think there are also lots of people who wants to see a Starboard design in the Olympic ;-)

I think we can assume any company wants to choose their own timetable for making an announcement either way.

News is that for the next meeting in 2011, ISAF is probably taking windsurfing out of the olympics... you bet... kite is in;

It's a shame if windsurfing is taken out of the Olympics!!
I cannot understand how can kiting became part of the sailing family?? Is ISAF going to include base jumping next?
C'mon Starboard do something! Promote a One Design Class. We need to replace the RS-X class.

The comparison between snow skiing and boarding is misleading. None of the alpine events were sacrificed for boards anymore than were the nordic events. There is in fact a lot of interaction and all three disciplines coexist in the Olympics even if at different venues (now there is an idea).
Any case the kitesurfers might be careful least they get their dream and the FSX equivalent of WS - here is the nub, while WS might have a shortish Olympic history its full potential as a sport in that venue has not yet been realised due to some curious decisions re designs around the limitations of venues and to fit into the traditional Olympic format rather than adapting to new forms of water sport. The best hope for change might be to insist on both disciplines being Olympic thus weighting the decision about format and location toward these modern sports (or split the locations) rather than the other way about .

one formula race and one hi-wind slalom race in Olympics would be great
issue with races is - sites change and we all know about wind predictions and predicaments
how would kiting ever make it into olympics ?
