To me it sound as a pretty extreme solution, but in the same time I have to admit that you do not have much to try.
The mast is close to death...cutting the part out is a possibility, but I would really start to look for another one.
PS: pay attention buy cutting, a thin carbon fibre under your skin you will hardly recognize at the beginning but later it can be really sore.

If the split isn't too bad you can try cutting 75 to 100 mm off the mast without affecting its bend characteristics too much.Just add 75 too 100mm to your mast extension when rigging up.
If the split continues past the area you just cut off then basically all is lost as the stresses at the joint are extreme under load and a fiberglass epoxy repair wouldn't stand the strain anyway.

Can i fix a 1 inch crack/split in a RDM mast?
My Nolimits RDM mast has a 1.5 inch crack/split right where the two parts are join together I was thinking of fixing it with epoxy and fiberglass, will i work?
