At your weight I think the Kode 68 will easily work the best for high wind. If you're worried about that the ride is to hard, you might wanna go for the wood models, not wood carbon. In super choppy stuff they actually ride a bit softer. I would also say that relative the old Acids, a similar sized wood Kode is if anything a bit softer and easier in chop. The question is more if you feel ready for such a small board. A Kode 74 will clearly be a bit more forgiving. |

Think you`ll find kode a bit hard in chop. (especially Carbon) I tried k94 and even with my 100k (ish) it was hard in chop. It is quite wide for its volume and think at your weight you`d need to go very small to cope "easy" in chop. Think you`d prefer Acid. Try a few.. Dont think you could go too small ; you`ll be swapping board in under 2 seasons anyhow so dont worry about weight gain !!! good luck,, |

| agrelon | Thanks, wow. I think that anything under 70kg should be fine considering I'm using a 106l board in high winds at the moment. I would consider the prokids Quad or something but unfortunately I'm 17 and am still gaining weight. Thanks for the advice. | |

My 7-8 bf board in large swell/chop (freshwater) is predecessor Acid74, but I have about 30+ kilos more. For your weight, a 74 will be too big in more than 6bf. You need 68 if not smaller, don't know your location, maybe some gorge sailors could give advice. I always wondered what do 50 kg sailors use in high winds - customs I suppose. I would be wary of the very light carbon boards in hairy conditions. There have been comments that new carbon Kodes are a bit clattery, maybe wood is better for control, haven't tried for myself. |

Kode 68/74 On Choppy Flatwater I'm looking for a high wind solution board, bft 6 and up. During high wind my spot gets quite big chop over large long swell. I don't have access to waves. Also, I weigh 55kg. Would these boards be appropriate for high powered, choppy flatwater, or would you recommend something else? Personally, I like the idea of a board that turns well in these conditions. Also, the weight of both boards is phenomenal and as these conditions would lend themselves well to jumping a wave design with light weight is definitely a plus. |
