RE: Isonic 133 or 145
Your a similair weight to me, Sonics/iSonics is an area that interests me loads, so heres my penny's worth (for what its worth). If your dead set on either a iS135 or iS145, I think the iS135 would be the better choice. If you didnt have a 10m, I'd have suggested looking at the iS111 for your 7m as you say your sailing in over 8ms/17k winds, but as 10m is in the picture, it has to be the iS135 (or at a push the iS122).8Ms is around 17/18 knots (I think ???) so the iS135 is possibly a bit on the large side for these winds (unless its a very hot). If you go for a iS145, your smaller sails (7m ish) will make the board feel very big (especially if lumpy water). You may get away with it by using a 45/46cm fin, and it will work OK but not ideal. The other side of the coin is that the iS145 will be real fun with a 10m and 55/56cm fin in 9/11 knot days. On the other hand, if you get a iS135, you can use a the 7m ish in over 8ms/17k days with a 40cm ish fin (if not to rough) and still get good feelings and sensations from the board. Downside will be that the iS135 will be on its limit with the 10m (and largest fin) and not quite as "power on-formula style" as the iS145. So I guess its down to the sailing conditions in your area, flat water and light winds (maily 10m ish) go with the iS145 but have a tougher/harder time when the winds reach 15 knots. Or, 15 to 20 knots, slightly choppier water, go with the iS135 with 7/8m sails for more feel and fun. But !!!! for max range with one board in 7 to 10m sail range, it might be worth checking out a iS122 and a getting a 38, 43 & a 48cm fins to help increase the range. Last thing to take into consideration is that the iS135 is a true light wind slalom board (mainly for 7.5m plus sizes) were as the iS145 is more of a F-type 148 replacement (de-tuned formula board) so the iS135 will ultimatley be faster down wind. The iS145 does have the option of in-board foot strap plugs.
Soz for the long answer, but the winds not playing out today, so next best thing is to talk about it.
