Yeah noticed that on many other forums! Don't know why he abuses others on the forums, but it's certainly not nice! :@

I'd agree in that he should seek help. join a windsurf or other sports club and do something productive!

Negative stuff on a forum won't bring you joy!!

RE: Pointing and beating.

You made an offensive remark discrediting my posts. You're too stupid, arrogant or both to figure out that you were wrong.

Thanks for the compliment. Actually, I wasn't able to sum it up until I read through the better posts here. Obviously, you're too much of an idiot to figure that out.

Let's see, GeorgeUSA39 ought to be banned if we ban all dorks. Actually, beating the wind would be the proper English expression as one is beating it's direction of force. Pointing would be the ability to go where you are headed. The better you point, the more precise you can achieve your intended goal. Enough on this subject?

Ban these dorks and let them go somewhere else!

RE: Pointing and beating.

Certainly there is room for confusion on terminology. Common points of sailing are running, reaching and beating. Another term for beating is close hauled. Beating is sailing to windward and is usually part of a tacking sequence to make ground upwind. Pointing is another term for the same thing but as GEM mentions it usually is a qualitative term to indicate how well a boat or its crew can go to windward. There is often a trade off between speed when pointing lower or distance gained to windward when pointing higher. Pointing too high is called pinching. Sail trim is important hence adjustable outhaul to flatten the sail for upwind work or to ease the profile if sailing 'freer'.

No, it shows that during my LIFE I learned that everyone has value and worth, and as a result they are due courteous behavior and treatment from all. My sense of self-worth taught me that when someone violates a person's right to being treated kindly, such individuals should be called on the carpet and told in no uncertain terms that their behavior is unacceptable. Starboard may choose to tolerate miscreants, but I don't.
