|Ola_H||Hmm, I rode it after my ET74 (which is a measured 74 liters) and it felt bigger for sure. But I will check. It is 56 cms wide though, which is similar to the EVO 75. But on the other hand it has a faster rocker.|

|Unregistered||be careful with the kode 80. ride it before you make a decision. I am 75 kg's and the kode 80 feels and rides the same size as my 70 evo. ridden on the same day one after the other there is no volume diffrence between the two. it is not a big 80 ltrs more like 74.|

Yes, I think the EVO 80 will bring noticably more control to the 4.2 sailing than the Kombat 89. It just a more control oriented board, thinner, some concaves, more rocker, softer rails etc. If you like how the EVO 75 turns but just thinks its to small, the 80 will probably serve you well.
Another option is an Acid/Kode 80 which is aboard that is closer to the Kombat 89 in general feel (similar rocker and rails) but a fair bit narrower and with a much narrower tail. That would be a great high winder for you for sure. It is not an as easy turner as the E80 in slow waves but either more blasting or if you often have side shore and good waves, the Acid/Kode 80 is a real gem.

evo 80 2009
My weight is 90 kg and in high wind conditions I sail the 2008 Kombat 89 with 4.7 and 5.3m sails. In those conditions the Kombat is perfect for me. This season I also bought the 2008 Evo 75 to use with 4.2 and 4.7 sails. When well powered up the Evo is also an excellent board, however when sailing in gusty winds I tend to sink very fast. So, the gap between the two boards for my weight seems to be too big.
That's why I was wondering if the Evo 80 would be a better high wind quiver board for me next to the Kombat 89. I'm a bit hesitant towards buying the Evo 80 because it's width is so very near to that of the Kombat 89. In other words, will the Evo 80 bring me better sailing in 4.2 and 4.7 conditions than the kombat 89?
Hope someone can help me, thanking you in advance
