Deboichet move from Italy to France several years ago, near l'Almanarre, a mythic place for PWA slalom in the past. It's a tiny company and they have to much demand for theyre product capacity. So high level racers, "friends" or people having direct contact with them are first served... Why would I go to a middle man, when Deboichet sells directly to customer. They just need to stop thinking that their fins are only for PWA riders and get a customer service person that will help them expand in great lenghts their reach and subsecuently their pockets. His business model seems to be just built great fins but dont let the world know we have them or sell them. He finally change his website this year but still need to be more precise and have better customer service. Once things go south and if another company builts that magical fin, he will be out of the race or he will then make the real effort to sell to the general public. |

This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but check out Sailworks: http://www.sailworks.com/web/category.cfm?category=17 Although I haven't bought fins from them, I do have a couple of their sails and found the customer service of the best. |

I see your point, however, exactly because other companies make an effort to explain their product range to customers (e.g. Select's web), Deboichet always looks somewhat mysterious "black-boxy" and exactly for this reason I would like to see someone putting together such a table so we can all discuss on fins based on some limited basic understanding of Deboichet fins! I agree I have also tried to contact them and got no answer ... I use Select and Tectonics fins, and have just ordered a couple of Venoms ... still looking for the "right fin" for my iS 111 and Falcons 89 & 131 Marko |
