maetpad please someone correct me if I am wrong , but I don t think that making a copy of an hypersonic should be that difficult... maybe time consuming but not that difficult. 2 ways:

1/ bring it to a shaper who will be able to make templates to replicate scoop, outline and concaves.

2/ there may even be prototyping shops ( not necessarily windsurfing companies, just a company that specializes in digitizing items for ex) with a 3d scan -> bring the board there, get a 3 d model made, then get that to a shaper that has a 3d numerical lathe (ideal). You ll get a blank that is a perfect replica, you ll just need to get a shaper to strat the board properly.

Unregistered I tried 96, 111, 105, 125
IMO the first generation 2003 boards are mush better than '04
'03 105 wood is my choice, love it
to me the best board for moderate wind/chop

John Kemsley I had bot a HS11 and a HS133, as a fattie (95kg) the 133 always felt more comfortable

Philip By all accounts the HS96 was the one to go for.

Unregistered this is poster #8.

i have no idea what i am talking about when i say "have a run of hyper 111's made" . i assumed if a board builder had a mold then in wouldn;t cost that much to make some. if these boards aren;t made in molds then i would guess the cost would be to high to make them custom.

cheers

I'm interested what do you mean when you say "you can have a run of hyper111's", are you a board shaper/builder? If you are, then it shouldn't be too difficult to take precise measurements of a board.

I know a lot of sailors who'll disagree with the "flying/hammering" comment (me included). Yes I've spent 3 seasons on a hyper in all wind strengths (often way below and above its comfortable range), and 3 last seasons on iSonics. It was an interesting design when it appeared (2002/3) and it had its plusses, namely HUGE sail and wind range and near-formula angles. But no way I would trade iSonic ride for a hyper now (I refer mostly to iS111 and 122). iS is much more reactive, faster, much better gybing and in my opinion more fun.

Fair winds

Unregistered I keep one overseas and some sails (to avoid the bstd airlines attitude to windsurfing kit !)
If you only want ONE board for several things (I do some fun racing etc) I still think there is nothing to beat it.
