RE: Sandy point Chris Lockwood speed We almost got your wish! I understand Finian was seriously thinking of making the long trip to Sandy Point a few days before on the strength of the wind forecsts. But in the last 2 days the forecasts were getting less and less so he decided against it. After all, it's a long and expensive trip to make just to be skunked! As it turned out, the wind was way in excess of all the forecasts. It is not often that Windguru gets it so wrong.......... Pity! |

RE: Sandy point Chris Lockwood speed Irrespective of his speed, which is absolutely astounding, I think he deserves a world record for "most distance travelled for a single dedicated sailing session". Flight Perth to Melbourne 2722km (1692 miles). Drive Melbourne to Sandy Point about 230kms(130 miles).Then return! Total, nearly 6000km. I guess this is the sort of dedication that topples records. Awesome effort all round. |
