|Ola_H||Langdon: If I'm not mistaken, the inserts are in fact the same, it was just the screws that got longer (and for 2010 they are also thicker). But to be sure, measure the insert depth and estimate the thickness of the compressed strap and see how it adds up.|

Anytime you use longer screws than the originals, you risk punching through the "screw insert" which may result in a hole into the core of the board = leaks water.
Unless you know the exact depth of the insert, you risk damaging the board.
To clarify what I am saying, there are small cylindrical plastic inserts set (glued/epoxied) into the board that the screws screw into. Generally, they are not much longer than the screws.

Does the longer footstrapscrew fit older boards ?
As the title of the thread says. Is it possible ?
You won't breake anything in the board as it isn't made for these longer screws, even if it's just 4mm or something like that.
