Nico, it was just a fun (very fun) session. The "overtake" scene was just trying to find a good angle of my friend Caetano, who was on the Sport Tech version. The Serenity Wood is a work of art, really beautiful board. It seems faster specially in non "glassy" conditions. It`s stiffer and a bit lighter too, but the white one (Sport Tech) works very well too. Don`t forget to send pictures/movies from you sailing the Serenity in Venice!! Ciao Marcello |

Really amazing, especially seeing the tired flags oh the shore with almost no wind, and then the speed of the board. Different sail size and/or rider skill, or the wood wersion is clearly faster than the sportech one? They say wood version is fragile, so I was wondering about the sportech one, as 400-500 grams shouldn't make the difference on a non planning board, I thought... |

I also admire this beautiful board, but I would prefer it shorter and with a rotating daggerboard, my dream would be a Phantom 320 with wooden deck or full wood ... |

Don't think twice, the Serenity is a great board for non-planning conditions. From 2 to 7 knots it's amazing! Just hook in and let it go gliding smooth, fun and fast! Thanks. It seems that every country but Italy appreciate Serenity. Obviously I would have preferred testing/renting some time the board before thinking to buy it. And honestly an used cheaper model would be better for me; even if I've seen that the sportech model has a good price in Slovenia, better than in Italy. Some time ago I've seen the Podersdorf centre selling on ebay.de/.at an used 2009 model for less than 600 euros (final auction price), I had the temptation to buy it but shipping cost to Venice mainland was huge (+130 euro). And in any case I surely want to test it before buying it. |

I think it will be hard to find Serenity to rent, but I’m sure you can buy one. If you can’t find it in Italy, you can try other country. Podersdorf is far away from Venice but you can ask in Slovenia, same direction but much closer to Venice, 160km to border. You can check out this link: http://www.starboard.si/ceniki/ I now this dealer already sold at least one Serenity board in Slovenia, but probably more. Only problem is that Serenity is not in stock, after you order it you usually have to wait a long time until you get it. |

Nothing to do, a lot of windsurf centers answered me but none of them has the Serenity. No help from italian distributor. Sad to say but one of them has clearly told me that the Serenity project was "killed" by the SUP explosion. Is it true? Also the slowly decreasing space for Serenity in Starboard website pheraphs shows that the idea of such an original board is fading. Last thing: someone from Starboard staff can tell me if some Serenity board was ever sent to Italy? |

I already asked the italian Starboard distributor if they have imported and distributed to some shop or rental center a Serenity, but no answer from them up to now... Umpf, strange to find the Serenity in the little no-sea country of Austria, and not in our Italy sorrounded by seas... I would be happy also with an older model in bad conditions, i use to repair mi boards so no problem... |
