Remi Hi Juan1

Nothing really to add exept that Select are really not super fast slalom fins, try Deboichet or Tectonics ans suddenly your performances will be better

Have fun with your friends

DML Hola amigo gallego!

I like your post! I think that those are the kind of doubts you get when you know you are going really fast but you feel you could go even faster. Often the extra bit is not so much about the gear itself but about the rider. Few little things that we do when we ride which are impossible to explain but that happen and influence in a good or in a bad way. That is why training means so much in slalom.

To question n. 1 and 2.. So if he is perfect powered up with the same sail size, same trimming, you will be disadvantaged as you are 5 kilos heavier. 5 kilos is quite a difference regardless the board volume.

to question 3. you should be faster.

In general if the guy is ok with 101, you should go for 107. Only when you get well overpowered and struggle to keep good control is the time to jump on the 90.
In my opinion the more volume the better as far as you ride confortably and with control.
Select fins are ok. Dbchet, are top!

97 litres as your sole slalom board might be too small for your 85 kilos and 7,8 sail.

juan1 remi what about thiis escenario
:1. my friend is in 6,7 mtrs isonic 101 perfect powered up so i take my 90 same sail cause i will be also well powered , and so my 90 will be faster ?
2. hes on 101 and 6,7 wellpowered and i take 107 same sail he will be faster?
3. hes on 101 and 6,7 i take 107 and 7,8 both wll powered me a little overpowered but still in control , who will be faster?

we most often use 6,7 mtrs so which is the better size board for this ? i weight 85 and hes 80 kg
he has a 101 and me 90 and 107 , i buy both to cover better gap but looks like im struggling on this
many times when wind is less than perfect i pass him but whe we both are powered im whith him but not easy task ,
he has 38 cm sl2 deboichet for his combo and i have 39 select sl9
thanks again regards juan
or your advise will be simply sell 2 boards and buy new 97??
thanks juan

Remi Hi Juan1,

On 7.8 the best board will be the 107, now their is a lot other factor weight of the racers, level, style etc.

If one rider is on 7.8/107, the other one who is 6.7/90 should be lighter to take planning at the same time and speed in general is in favor of the heavy one, anyway their is multiple possibility.

Hope this help

juan1 Hi Remi , and what about use a 7,8 while hes on his 6,7 or use isonic 90 whith the 6,7┐Thanks juan1

Remi Hi Juan1

For 6.7 the 97 will be faster than the 107 and more easy to use with that size.

Hope this help

How to win my slalon friends

out of slalom races there isna lot of slalom on the beach between friends , my thinking is that perhaps whaat is good for races is not necesary the best while whith friends ; normaly between us we tend to wait one for another and then try to beat the other crosswind , upwind or downwind, on races they tend to have the biggest boards and sails they can hold to go maximun even in lulls but when we have lulls whith friend the run simply dont count so will be better to have smaller board like a isonic 101 when he is on 107 simply because this smaller board will be quiker when the wind is ok? So if we both are on 6,7 mtrs sail wil the 101 be quiker than the 107 for simillar skilled friends? Thanks for help and hope my friend dont read this! regards juan1
