Close into the shore it can get a little patchy due to the harbour wall upwind but once your out in the middle it is a very clean wind. Get yourself up wind for the cleanest and flatest conditions.
As for wind speed it is like anywhere in the fact that it can vary but a typical summer thermal wind is in the region of low 20 knots. If the direction changes and blows in from the sea it can be as low as 12 knots but this is not typical for the summer months.

Hi unregistered, as I don't know your weight and level I will tell you what I use.
I am 87Kg and a very good intermediate, if the thermals kick in I will be on 6m crossover sails and 111 futura but if not I may well be using 7.5m and 122 futura.
Hope this helps

Hallo Martin, what are on your opinion the most 2 used boards in end june/beginning July (as well as sail sizes) ?
Is it gusty or patchy wind?

Never been in May so can't say if it is as good as June or not but the wind there relies on thermals so the warmer it gets the more reliable the wind generally. Beware the schools break up at the end of June so can start to get quite busy and crowded especially at weekends.
Cesme is only 10 minutes away from the windsurf spot, the hotels are cheaper and there is plenty of restaurants around so you don't have to go into Alacati town every night but if you wanted too the dolmas (bus) is very cheap (approximately 2 euros) and run regulary.
Yes it is owned by the woman and her boyfriend Jimmy Diaz, fantastic centre as far as location and board selection but they didn't have that many sails (North) to choose from which gets worse the busier the centre is, this may have changed now.

Thanks Martin for your reply!!!

The hotel is recommend is on the other side of the peninsula, Cesme, .....a bit from Alacati i guess. I will keep looking for something closer!!!

Hi Mario, I have visited Alacati for the past 5 years and this is what I know.
1) Can be very busy in July/August, I always go Mid June, reliable winds, not as hot and not as busy.
2) Try the Hotel Ileri in Cesme, has a free taxi service to the beach everyday (save on car hire too and closer to town).
3) There are lots of centres there, just google it but club Mistral is definitely one. There is a new centre just opened on the other side, less crowded and super flat, has the most amazing line up of Starboards!
4) The roads are pretty good to drive on and easy enough unless rush hour, the bus is cheap and easy.
5) Very safe for families with Kids
6) Cheaper than most tourist destinations in Europe unless you eat in the top restaurants in Alacati town.
Hope this is of some help to you

I´m thinking in going to Alacati for some windsurf training and vacations.
I´m might go with friends or familiy and i need some info.
I see there are some people on the forum that usually windsurf in Alacati so if they can help me it would be great!!!
1 - What is best time - July or August?
2 - I prefer a apartment or guesthouse than hotel - for cooking the meal for the kids - does anyone know a place to stay? Or a site that i can use to find places to rent?
3 - Is there any surf center that rents slalom kit?
4 - As i prefer to stay in the town is it ok to rent a car to go to the beach? Any problem driving around there?
5 - Is it safe and goo for kids?
6 - How is the cost of life around there?
I can be reached by firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks for your help
