RE: formula europeans

Selecting too small a sail , perhaps not even registering a bigger sail ?
Leaving it too late to leave the beach and not making the start ?
Whatever the wind minimum there will always be controversy, questions asked - was it below the minimum?
There are sailors that excel in lighter winds, they should not be penalised at every event.
Of course in an ideal world all competitors are planing ; and we experience as wide a range of "planing"conditions as possible during a regatta .

RE: Formula Europeans

So it was a poor decision by the sailors to go out to race with no wind- yea I agree, but it was even worse of the rc to try to force an event with no wind.
FW racing needs a wind minimum to be successful- a steady 8k.

RE: europeans

Both venues actually come with good recommendations from many FW racers . We were unlucky last year with a spell of little or no wind - something that actually affected the whole season for many events , many countries, and many disciplines(not just formula).
Regarding rc judgement -that was not the prblem -poor sailor judgement was the critical factor !

RE: Formula Europeans

Why not make it a 2 week trip?
Well certain sailors might recall last years europeans in portugal with several top ranked sailors leaving the event early after bad rc judgement and racing in non planing conditions. Thanks but no thanks- Ill stick to racing venues with some wind.

RE: FW Europeans

Why not make it a 2 week trip to the Iberian peninsula?
Following closely behind the Santa Pola Europeans a Formula Grand Prix in Portimao , Portugal.
