John1 I have tried various sails and by opinion I think that 5,8 is a good lower limit for that board. in choppy conditions use the 6,5 as the smallest sail (Essy Cheetah 6,5 in my case).

mcross19 I agree, using the biggest sails on a board definitely make more sense

painful msraebyo

the ideal sailsize for the Futura Range is the upper end of the recommended size, e.g. 7.0-8.0 for the F111. To me it makes no sense use an highwind sail on a medium wind board. You will definetly reduce the perfomance.

Farlo Agree with the above. At 68Kg I can set 7.8mē w/o problem on my 65cm/103L freeride board while it will become scary with anything less than 5.5 (recommended range: 4.5-7.5). I never tried bigger sails on it but as I can also set a 43cm fin, maybe a 8.6 would be manageable, though not ideal.

Unregistered IMO heavier sailors will reduce both upper and lower limits; so a similar range ...lighter sailors will increase upper and lower limits..

At 105 kg I have no problem using smaller sails than recommended and nearly always find I struggle using largest... justv try it and see...ranges arent cast in stone. guide only..

mcross19 and depends on what the water state is and also your weight.

Starboard quote max and min possible sizes but for realistic sizes add 0.5 to the lower and subtract 0.5 from the upper limit to achieve a more recommended sail range, just my opinion.

Maximus Depens on what wind range you intend to use the extremes.....

Tolerance on sailrange?

Every board has a sailrange (min & maxsize). Is there a tolerance on it?
For a Starboard Futura 111 Wood this is 5.0 - 8.0. Will I have problems when using for example a 4.7 sail on it?
