First sail on my long awaited 295L, using my NP RS Slalom Mkiv, proved that it is an even more versatile board than the original version! Spent an afternoon cruising from one end of the lake where I live in mostly light winds, and still managed to clock a maximum speed of 23 knots.

|Unregistered||Hello guys! Does anyone know if this board planes earlier than wider freeride boards like rrd firemove or jp magic ride.I will be using a 7.0 twin cam sail and weigh 75 kilos. Thanks!|

|Unregistered||It's good SB is still working on hybrids. Clearly it's not an easy compromise to design, witness the number of SB models, nor cureently the biggest market sector. Nevertheless having a board covering 7/8 knots to 20+ knots and coping with inland conditions is a great goal for the sport. Will be interested to see how it sails compared to my Pacer.|

|rww||Thanks... That's what I've been thinking. My biggest sail at the moment is a 7.8 that I use with my iS 107 in light to medium winds.|

the main advantage of the 320 was the possibility to use a 9.5 sail (you may see my videos on youtube by searching "f388949") but such large sails are for me a little bit too large, they are manageable but I prefer the lighter feeling and manoeuvrability of a 7.8, therefore with my 73 kilos, the 295 is just fine, really pleasant, I think the 295 L will be even better though by light and medium wind
all the best

That's exactly my aim. A couple of questions if you don't mind.
What do you weigh? Are you switching to the 295L because of the increased volume?

I had a 320 and now have a 295, and I am currently purchasing the new 295 L
these boards are the best windsurfing purchases I ever made, though I have everything, iSonic, Futura, Kode etc, it's just that I sail 10x more often, always with pleasure, and can now enjoy light and medium winds
you won't be disappointed

That's great. I too am looking more for fun in lighter winds than going racing. Haven't settled on a 295 yet. 320 is on the list as well.

You wont be alone, I'll be sailing a Phantom 295L on the lake this year with 8.5 Phantom rig as well. Just fun not racing.
