|SeanAUS120||Why race a yacht and a moth using the latest technology and designs against a 10-year old windsurfer? The windsurfing gear of the past 2-3 seasons is unequivocally faster. Probably had a Drake fin in as well...*sigh*|

I would take almost for granted, that he has used 2003 formula 147. Only 2003 and 2004 boards had the IQ sign so close to the back edge of the board, but the 2004 board had wider white strap just behind the latter screw of the fin. I would never tell, that he would use so old board for speed contest, but obviously Nick considered it the best choice. I myself still sail on 2001 175 Formula wood edition and love the board. What's interesting this board of mine is lighter ( 8,6 kg vs 9.x) that nowadays 20012 and 2013 Fomulas.

You're right!, I assumed Nick would be on his RSX gear so I didn't really look at it. So obvious he is using a Vapour sail with SB Formula (I couldn't say which); just like that amazing classic selective attention test on youtube
From the comments Paul & Nic were close pre weed, but both got stuffed by a windshift
The wind was 10-15 knots, so only just enough for pointing on formula at times

What board was Nick using? Looks like an older Starboard Formula board but could have been a wood ultrasonic, hard to tell as the film is very brief.
Am guessing that the moth would have beaten him too if it hadn't of got weed round the hydrofoil.
