I got the 2013 Isonic 107. The 2014 was going down the road I didn't want, wider & able to carry larger sails. First day on it went pretty well but the water was fairly flat. I need to test it on a choppy day.

|NWF||For what its worth guys I have used F93 and IS 107 as my combo for a few years now and works well..... Only just changing the old F93 for a 2014 IS 90..... I also last year had F90, IS 107 & IS 117 that also worked well too, good range and good cross over at 7.8m, but only used 8.6m as my largest sail even though it would take 9.2 reasonably well..|

You are probably correct on the 101. I was thinking the same thing because I have a Futura 93 that I prefer for 6.0 & under conditions so I'm using my 101 for 6.5-7.6 range. If I get the 107 it will take up the 6.5-7.6 range of the 101. However, I don't see myself trading the Falcon for a Isonic 117. My Falcon is mainly for 8.0-10.0 sails and the 117 would be woefully underpowered in those conditions becoming too redundant with the 107.

If the iS101 is giving you problems in dirty air, then I reckon the iS107 would be about right. Just one size up should fix things. I think the design brief for the iS110 is more light riders light wind board, so a light rider might find the iS110 gives less control c/w iS107 in swell/race chop.
I'd guess that you will end up using the iS101 a lot less, and may even consider selling at some point. Maybe even sell the Falcon 142 and get an iS117 for more control in 7.6m swell/chop conditions.
Just my 2 cents worth

I was searching the Free Forum & getting nothing. I changed the search to the Ask Our Team amp a whole bunch of useful topics popped up.

Isonic 107 vs. 110
Which board would be better for a 75 kg sailor using 7.6 & 8.2 slalom sails? Both boards list the same sail range & roughly same fin range but there is a 6 cm difference in width. Is the 110 designed for flat water & the 107 for chop or is the 107 for smaller sailors & the 110 for larger sailors in the same wind?
I currently have the Isonic 101 (64 cm) wide that is fine up to 7.6 for free sailing but in slalom races with 20+ sailors on the course creating a huge amount of dirty air the 101 is extremely slow to plane, especially out of jibes. My next board up is an 85 cm wide Fanatic Falcon 142 l that is fine with 7.6 sail for free sailing on flat water but becomes a handful when powered up in swells & chop with a 7.6.
Right now I'm leaning towards the 107 as the Falcon can handle the 7.6 if flat water. I'm not sure I would gain much from the Falcon with the 110 other than being able to use a 6.6 sail with it.
