slalom for light wind
To be able to sail more in light wind I have got an Isonic 111 with a 44 cm race fin. I use the board in shoppy conditions and my weight is 75 kg.
I plan to combine this board with the Overdrive 7,5 or 8,5.
Because I altso have a Kode 103 and a NCX Pro 6,5 I think that an Overdrive 8,5 may will be the best choice.
Otherwise it will be to small difference beetween a NCX Pro 6,5 and an Overdrive 7,5?
If I go for an Overdrive 8,5,- does this sail work well with a 460 blueline mast combined with the extension North Shox XTR (42 cm) instead of a blueline 490 mast?
I have a blue line 460 mast and dont really want to buy a new mast..

I have the iS 111, and the sweet spot for sails is the 7.5. I also love my 6.6 on the 111. I weigh 78kg. However, I don't like my 8.4 on the board unless the wind is steady, which isn't often. My 8.4 rig (Maui Sails TR3 and heavy HPL formula carbon boom) is not comfortable in marginal conditions, but a lighter rig (RAF no-cam sail and lighter boom) would make a difference.
A one meter jump in sail sizes (6.5 to 7.5) is very good - not too close to each other. However a two meter jump from 6.5 to 8.5 is pretty big. I think I would choose the 7.5 now and later go for the 8.5 if you get a bigger board for lighter winds.
If the wind is marginal, I usually choose my formula board with a 9.2 or 11.0 and don't use the 8.4. If the wind gets to about 14+ knots, I can then use my 7.6 on the iS.
Can't help you with the mast and sail situation other than it's difficult to know how a sail will perform with a short mast and long extension until you try it. Generally, the leach will loosen up a lot and the sail may fuller at the bottom (deeper draft). If you go with the 8.5, I wouldn't buy a mast until you try it with the 460 mast.

If you are going to race downwind slalom, a fin around 38 cm with the 7.5 would be good. If you just free sail or figure 8 slalom where better upwind performance is needed, then a 40 or 42 would be fine.
My 111 came with two drake fins, a 38 and a 44. Both had bad spin out problems so I bought a Tectonics Tomcat 42 to cover my 6.6, 7.6 and 8.4. It works well with all three sails. I tend to like larger more powerful fins and don't find the 42 too big for my 6.6. I don't race slalom very often.
Your 44cm fin could be a little large for your 7.5 and your weight, but it should work OK if not overpowered in light conditions.
we use in Slalom Comp. for iSonic111(mod.2010):
as biggest S1 39,5cm (Refelx 8,6 and 7,8)
smallest S1 36,5cm (Refelx 7,0 and 6,2)
in your weight the 42 is much to big and you will not get a free planing of your iS111! It will run deep and like on rails.

I have a Is-111 and I use regularly a 7.3-8.0 Hot Sail GPS. The 8.0 works very fine at my weight (72Kg). For a fin I use a 40cm Tectonic Talon almost exclusively, occasionally a 37 Talon.
I would get an 8.0 if I were you.
For lightwind slalomracing the 7.5 will be most fun to ride, but the iS111 + 44cm fin should handle 8.5 too to glide a bit earlier.
Just make the decision:
Choosing 7.5 ==> using this sail from zero till its sweetspot (18kn average wind?) After this continue sailing with the 6.5 directly in its sweetspot. Making with 2 sails a rather big sweetspot
Choosing 8.5 ==> using this sail from zero till its sweetspot (15kn average wind?) After this you will have a small gap in performance but when it is good enough for 6.5 you can rock on the water again.
My preference would be the 7.5 solution, the sweetspot for iS111. Choosing sails at the waterside will be easy, lowwind= 7.5 and highwind= 6.5. When I had to choose for downwind slalom or figure 8 slalom it would be 7.5... Best fin in this case would be around 40cm, but I used also 44cm for 7.0 in lightwinds too boost overtaking speed ;) and my weight was +- 80kg
