size fins for the isonic, 2011 and 2012
I have been checking about the recommended size fins for the isonic.
Compare the 2011 and the 2012 is quite a big difference. Ex: 127 model 2011 from 38 to 50 127 model 2012 from 44 to 54 107 model 2011 from 32 to 46 107 model 2012 from 36 to 44 Are the model '12 so different from the previous year or there is another reason for this big change? |
Hi Emil,
I just correct this who wasn't quiet correct in 2011, a 38 on 127 and a 32 on 107 is not really good size for this boards. Now is more realistic for 2011 and 2012. Hope this help All the best |
Remi,
Have you also made any changes in regard to iSonic 117 Wide and the sails/fin combo for 2012? Regards, Marko |
Hi Marko,
Still the same, but riders can tune as they want but this is a good base. All the best |
thanks Remi

first roll out 107 2012:
seems same fin sizes as last year model. 90kg/184cm Reflex II 7,8qm: S2 38,5cm and 8,6 S2 39,5cm up to 40,5cm in light winds. no need for bigger fins. Cheers pfaffi |
What do you pfaffi think of the new, is there any big difference.
My absolute favorite from last/this year was 107 / 38Boss / reflexII 7.8 Is it worth while to upgrade to the new model ? |
Hi fin66!
its just a feeling but I think the 2012 107 starts a bit earlier in planing and is very light. My carbon version without straps 6,15kg!! :-)) It gives a high and free feeling in planing. Until now not tried the Reflex II 9.2 on it if it will work? But 8.6 and 7.8 are the best combos off course. On the other side a big difference to the last year model I cant see. BR pfaffi |
Has anyone had the possibility to try 117W Carbon 2012? Any first impressions?
