Sail advice for isonic 97
Hello
I weigh 95 kg and im 1.94 cm tall , i windsurf in alacati turkey , the wind range i will be using this equipment will be 17knots + I have just got a isonic 97 but cant decide wich two sails to buy for this board. I was thinking of a 7.0 and 7.8 but also cant decide about the brand too rs:racing or severne reflex . which is better? differances? advice ideas.. thank you |
On the older IS101 (also 97 L of volume) I use both 6.7 and 7.8 RS:racings.
Both work super. It's my dream combo. :) I heard that the Serverne Reflex sails are a bit softer with a bit wider wind range. |
thank you for the advice i heard the same things about the reflex , knowing that i can use the 7.8 with it is good i was worried of sinking to much at certain points , just one last thing how much do you weigh kg?
|
I'm a little bit lighter than you, 87kg.
If I have an average 16-19 knot and rather stable wind, the 7.8 works perfect, with a 40 cm fin. If the wind is not stable enough, I use the 7.8 on my IS122 with a 43 fin. The 6.7, I use typically in 18-22 conditions with a 34cm fin. If you plan to use the 7.8 from 17+ knots, I wouldn't worry to much about sinking unless you have mega big lulls at your surf site. Cheers. |
Thank you again i got what i needed,
