Reflex III 12.0 first rigging
find photos of rigging my Reflex III 12.0 first time
very nice deep profiles and the leach opening looks perfect!! http://www.pfaffi.at/pfaffi_fins/Pic..._III_12.0.html Have joy! :-)) pfaffi |
the mast of use?
|
that is one mofo of a sail !!!
giant sail - severne hardtop with 5 cams - better be 550 Severne or MS 100 % !!! not sure 75% would do it !! looks nice, butt is the leach tighter than normal ?? what board do you put this sail on and what conditions ie wind strengths ?? can only imagine Formula board with winds under 18 knots |
I rigged with 550 Red Line and with a 530 100%C Carbon Tech (SLO custom mast) - similar view on land!
Cant imagine a 75% mast will work properly (wrinkles up the boom in front section) The leach is opening a lot, starting at the boom constantly up to the top (zero outhaul tension, compared to Reflex I) Board: SB167wide I am 92kg/184cm, so hope being competitive from 7knots up. |
from 7 knots up until what wind speed ??
when does such a sail become "unmanage-able" ??/overpowered hellova board too - wow wow and wow when you have a video - we would all love to see it especially fully powered up and ripping !!!! ENJOY !!! |
Hi Joe!
a 12.0 in my size/weight 184cm/91kg I can successfully handle in Formula competition (up-downwind race) in gusts up to 18knts, average 10-15knts, unmanageable 24 knts (fighting) the 10.7 up to 24 knts, avg 15-20 the 9.7 up to 28 knts, avg 20-25 the 9.2 up to 35knts, avg 25-28 BR pfaffi |
hi pfaffi,
i saw the photos of reflex III and is just great!!what is the mast tha you have trim the reflex III 12m2 ??? |
Hi Costazzz!
I rigged the Reflex III 12.0 on both, a Severne red Line 550 and a Carbon tech 530 with 40cm Base Extender. Same view and shape. Carbon rech is a Slovenian Custom mast producer who is supporting some PWA racers. This mast are more temperature stable. http://www.carbontech.si/ BR pfaffi |
