Repainting a Starboard Isonic
My Isonic is all scratched up and I can't take it anymore!
I was adjusting my sail in the water before an amateur course race, holding my iSonic 133 with one foot with my other foot on the mast extension furiously trying to downhaul a 7.5 slalom sail with 5 minutes to go before the gun. Unfortunately the iSonic got caught under the dock I was sitting on and smashed into the aluminum beams underneath by repeated waves and chop. The board came out with long black marks all down the rail on both sides. Fortunately not cracks or gashes, I assume it's just scatches in the paint where the sharp edged beams exposed the carbon?
I want to know the best way to fix this. Is the paint gelcoat, or something else? Board: iSonic 133, technora, 2007 or 2008, can't remember.

There were no iSonic 133 available in Technora either in 2008 or 2007, however :
The iSonics only available in Technora in 2007 were the 145 and 155: http://2007.star-board.com/viewpage.php?page_id=31
An iSonic 135 was available in DRAM in 2006 : http://2006.star-board.com/products/isonic.asp
I bet you've got the 2006 DRAM iSonic 135 and the black marks being revealed under the paint finish are not carbon layer but Dyneema fabric being exposed from the DRAM layer.
