Have you tried the stock fins with that sail yet? You should be able to gauge based on how the board feels with the two stock fins to know what you need for the 7.0.

For a 7.0, on the iSonic 105, I would be looking at a 34cm fin or maybe a 36cm. I use the stock 34cm fin with my 8.0 when it is fully powered up or overpowered. If I am having issues getting on a plane, I'll use the 40cm fin.

With my next smaller sail, I almost always use my 34cm fin. I've used it with my 40cm fin and it works, but I feel the top end max out because of the larger fin. Usually in that situation, I like to be on a bigger sail anyway.

You have a few pounds on me (65kg), but I would assume that doesn't adjust things too much.

I have a tect goldwing 36cm for isonic 105 + 7.5

my weight 80kg. Works perfect. Already did 58.7 kmh with 6.9 ==>

Differences drake slalom pro 34 // tectonics goldwing 36

-Tectonics easy to load (pressure off back leg)
-Tectonics accelerates faster
-Tectonics upwind better
-Tectonics downwind better
-Drake crosswind better
-Drake harder to drive fast
-Drake average speed in chop still better (I think i am used to it)
-Drake very strong fin (against crashing into something under water)

One minus I really noticed since I bought 2 carbon arts of Starboard Isonic 105:

On the very flat it is to sticky it just doesnt accelerate... still my topspeed 67.1 kmh (35 knots) But it was so hard. This board is fast in chop!!!!!! Not on the flat... Maybe it is because it is a DRAM... no way B) DRAM is fast... maybe this is the fastest DRAM of the world :D

I am 78 kgs and I use a Tectonics Goldwing 34 with my iSonic 105 and my 6.6m. It works very well upwind, downwind or crosswind . I have tried smaller fins (33 and 32 cm, good ones, but not Tectonics), and there were a number of spinouts. If I was 87 kgs and on a 7.0m, I would probably use a 36 cm fin.

Good luck with your choice!

Thierry
