Cross onshore frontsides and aerials - new Kode Wave or old Evo IQ 2012 for big guy?
I'm looking for a new wave board. I have just started wavesailing and I'm really interested in fronside wave riding and small aerials in cross onshore conditions. I'm from Croatia, Dalmatia and what we have there are small waves, fast and mushy. They start rolling on 20-25+ knots. Usually I'm on 5.7 or 5.0 sail, sometimes 4.3

I'm 93 kg (100 kg with wetsuit). I have Starboard Evo 80 2007 and board is really a frontside maniac! I'm looking for a bigger new wave board that will be one board for all sails (5.7 - 4.3). Evo 80 needs a lot of wind therefore I was thinking about Kode Wave 2014 92 (really good review in last Windsurf mag) or some second hand Evo IQ 86 twin fin 2012.
would highly recommend you the KODE 92. I will work great with 5,7 and 5,0. You can go with single fin or twin fin setup. The board has a good length and will start planing quick.
The KODE is an extremely easy going shape and the board feels fast on the water, what gives you enough drive for the Croatian wave conditions in Povlja.
The EVO IQ 86 is probably a bit close to the EVO 80, what's a great board indeed. You can keep it for strong wind days and use it with your 4.3m and 5.0. I personally sailed most 4,5 and 5,0 on the EVO 80.
Hope it helps and go for the KODE 92,
