is 127 or 132

all,
i want to buy an isonic 127 or 132, but iam not sure which one will fit into my quiver best.
I all ready have a fanatic ray 110 (65cm wide). Sails on this one 6.3 RAM, 7.3 and 8.4 s-type
The 8.4 is a bit big for it, but possible.
Iam surfing on flatwater spots with chop.
My weight is 78kg (lbs) and iam an advanced windsurfer.
If i have forgot some detail, please let me know!

What do you recommend?

Thanks in advance!

with your weight would you not use an iS 117 ??
supposed to be GOOD with an 8.4

i do not want to sell the ray 110 and wouldnt that be to close with the ray 110?

dutch dude 12th January 2014 06:34 AM

If the Ray is 65cm wide there should be a big big difference to the 80cm wide iSonic 117. My iSonic 110 is 75cm wide and perfect for 8.6 and 7.8 sails.

boards were originally measured in length
as they got shorter with the short board "movement" the volume became more important
NOW boards are getting wider and width is a prime factor
look at the freemove boards - short, low volume and WIDE
and so, we can NO longer compare boards based on volume alone...
i have a 160/79 and a 170/93 board {liters/width}
they are not the same at all and have similar length as well
the Ray 110 is NOT even close to the iS 117 !!!

thank you for your comments.

i want to keep the ray for the 6.3 and 7.3 sails (its a perfect chopkiller) and buy a 'bigger' board for the 8.4.

Iam also thinking about buying the s-type 9.5.

would the 127 or the 137 be the best recommondation?

Now you have mentioned getting a 9.5 I would recommend the 127 at your weight but also consider the 117W if you really want a slalom board but if you don't race and just want an early planner then have a look at the ultrasonic, it will love both the 9.5 & 8.4 sails.

i'am going towards the 127..

can anyone give me the fin data (vs sailsize) that is located on the tail of the 127 isonic board?

THX

Hi Dutch Dude,

8.4 with 46cm (eventually bigger up to 50 for light wind cruising)

above 9m 46 or 48

hope it helps,
Chris
