Code red 9.0 & 7.7 plus mast?
 

Hi,
Have a Code Red 9.0 and use it with a powerex 490/29 mast and works great. Easy rotation etc.

Tried to use it on the 7.7 as well. Doesn't work at all. Difficult rotation and not enough loose leech. Is the mast too stiff (460/25 recommended)?

I'm 92kg so thought a bit stiffer mast would be ok?

Help appreciated!

The correct mast for the Code Red 7.7 is the Red Line 460 imcs 25. The 490 that you have is really too stiff.

a too stiff mast can kill the quality of a Slalom sail indeed. Sailsizes around 7 - 8 m² need a 460, there is no other choice in my opinion. Have a 8.4 from another brand (4 cams, too) and I feel like that a 460 would work better than the 490ty. Have a 8.3 freeride sail no cam, which works great with 460ty. Anyway, you need the flex in the top. Do not go for a too stiff (too long mast), better invest in good extensions.
