2007 Acid vs 2006 Acid for high winds

Now that the 2007 Acid line has been out for a while, I needed to know which would be the board of choice for someone who needs a board that will be used about 65 percent in very high winds and 35 percent wave - (side on mostly). 2007 Acid80 or 2006 Acid80?
I can purchase either year and I'm a bit lost as to which one would be better for my needs. 85 kilos. My big board is an Exocet Cross 117.

thanks

Bob

RE: 2007 Acid vs 2006 Acid for high winds

Hi Bob,

Both versions make excellent hi wind B&J boards, as well as delivering well in their "pure" wave roles.

The difference between the two versions is marginal, however in summary the 2007 turns in slightly more instictively and is the better true wave board, whilst the 2006 has a small edge over the 2007 in efficency and rough water hi wind speed ~ and thus a more favorable machine (especially for bigger riders) in B&J/blasting mode (but definitely not to the extent of restricting 2006's true wave performance either).

Ridden casually, most people would struggle to find a clear difference,
it's pretty close but in the end that's the difference !

Cheers ~ Ian
